Connect with family and friends around the world with FaceTime audio and video calls. FaceTime Messages When someone doesnt pick up your FaceTime call, leave them a video or audio message to capture exactly what you want to say. SharePlay Watch videos and listen to music together with SharePlay. Synced playback and shared controls keep everyone on the same beat, and smart volume makes it easy to keep the conversation going over FaceTime while enjoying a video or song you love. Screen sharing Share your iPhone, iPad or Mac screen to bring your favourite apps into FaceTime. When someone is screen sharing, you can tap and draw on your screen to point out what they should do on theirs. If you need to assist more directly, you can ask for permission to remotely control their device. Collaboration Work on documents, presentations and more with the people on your call. Unknown Callers list Screened calls from unknown numbers are placed in a new area of your call list and out of your way. FaceTime links Invite your friends to a FaceTime call using a web link you can share anywhere. Even friends who dont have an Apple device can join the call from their browser instantly no login necessary. Mic Modes Automatic Mic Mode picks the right Mic Mode for you. Voice Isolation blocks out ambient noise and highlights your voice. Wide Spectrum will leave ambient noises unfiltered, allowing your voice and all the sounds around you to be heard. Portrait mode & Studio Light Portrait mode blurs your background, while Studio Light dims the background and brightens your face. Reactions & gestures Layer screen effects directly into your camera feed, like balloons, confetti, stormy rain, fireworks or laser beams. Double-tap anywhere on the screen to bring up the reaction buttons, or trigger reactions using hand gestures. Contact Posters Create a customised poster to represent yourself when you give people a FaceTime Audio call. Choose from various treatments for photos, Memoji and your name. Spatial Audio With Spatial Audio, your friends voices are spread out to sound like theyre coming from the direction in which theyre positioned on the call. FaceTime is a big part of what I do used for family and friends and to contact people in emergency or just on occasion. I have never thought that there was any glitches ,but I have to say sometimes it freezes or just disconnects which I find is annoying and very inconvenient. after the update where you can share your screen I think FaceTime has improved I think there could be additional updates that could make the app better and more convenient I read some reviews that said oh Ive had a bad experience with using this app do not recommend on the other hand I really recommend this because I think it is so handy and it just you can contact people and usually it works pretty quickly like Ive been able to contact my cousin whos been abroad but overall I think the app is great

FaceTime audio and video works fine most of the time but the app interface is frustrating. End a call with someone and press End fractionally after whoever is on the other end of the call, and the button has changed to call, so it calls them again. Maddening. And in any case calling with one press, is too easy to do mistakenly hence the inadvertent calls Ive made and received.

Intermittent connection problems

It was working fine on my old iPad until recent update iOS 18.2.1. After a couple of minutes into conversation the video image disappears and connection is unstable message pops up. Ive bought a new iPad and allowed the same iOS update and same problem ensues. You can still talk but i want to see the FACE as thats why this app is called FACETIME right? Btw I did not allow the above iOS update on my iPhone and FaceTime is working perfectly fine on it. Make of it what you like but I am not a happy bunny and will be looking for another app. Searching through Apple recommendations about this problem, I have deleted the app on all devices and restarted them then installed the app again. It worked for one day then the same problem started. Please sort it out as I am not the only one reporting this issue!
