As others have said, for a British baseball fan in the U.K., it's great to be able to follow all games pitch by pitch! I follow the Rockies, Cubs and White Sox, in that order. It's a long story......However, in recent weeks I cant watch any games on the app as when I try to open it on my iPad Air2 it tells me there is an update available, but I cant download it as I need iOS 16 or later, which my iPad doesnt have. I dont get the option to ignore the update and just continue with the current version. So I can now only watch games on my iPhone X!

The MLB app is the least easy to use of all major sports apps and is overcrowded with talking heads, endless statistics, interviews by the unknown commenting on the unknowable and difficult to maneuver or find what you are looking for. I may be guessing but I imagine most users just want to use the site to watch live or recorded games and highlights. The cost of running all the extras, salaries and editing must be enormous and far outweigh the viewership . A slimmed down version solely focusing on what the average viewer wants could be considerably less costly for both the provider and viewer but such decisions are being made by the pope, who benefit from the current over stuffed site. One simply wants to watch the games( live, recorded or condensed , punto. Try doing this on the app and you can waste hours trying to find what you want. To use settings is unimaginably difficult, ( eg turn on or off scores) , to find a game from the past week ( recorded is like finding level three ona complex computer game. This has been pointed out time and again by many users over the past few years and is ignored even though it can save money, reduce costs and still retain viewership.

Had major problems last year with using the scoreboard and finding the right games on the right days - being outside the US and the start times being forced into local time meant the evening games showed on the next day. It was a terrible experience. Happily this year is a little better, but there are still issues.Firstly the scoreboard works ok. The games still show my local time, but are pinned to the right days now. Theres a notice on the scoreboard saying all games are ordered by US start time, which isnt necessary really, and is also false if you have favourite teams selected. But the issue of games being on the wrong day is still present elsewhere. Notably on the audio streams, where a night game will be on the right day on the scoreboard, but on the list for the following day on audio streams. Huh. Thats the same for archived streams too.The live game feed has taken a major step back. The quality is fine, but the stats overlays are all gone. If you minimise the feed you get a static box score, but you cant get additional info. Also its an utter pain to keep minimising the feed to check stats! I hate this change the most. There also seems to be a bug with how you access live feeds. If you use the TV icon from the scoreboard, or from gameday, you get a no feeds error. You have to navigate to Watch and then find the game you want. Painful. Whilst the app is nowhere near as frustrating to use for me compared to last year it seems to have taken a clear step backwards in terms of functionality.
