An exciting new chapter

This year, for the first time in many seasons, I will not be exhibiting at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026. The quieter rhythm has encouraged a productive period that will launch an exciting new chapter for Hamish Mackie Sculptures.

It is the Chinese New Year on 17th February and 2026 is designated the Year of the Horse. As we welcome in that equine spirit, we've been looking back at the horse sculptures I have created over the years.

Making Bronze Life Size Peacock Sculpture

Sculpting the peacock's train was quite a challenge. I had to think about how I was going to maintain the texture of the feathers and the eyespots.
