The vibrant atmosphere of Buzz Caf has been revitalised under the leadership of its new owner, Gareth Stirzaker. Known for its bright and welcoming dcor, the establishment is currently greeting a mix of loyal regulars and fresh faces as it prepares to embark on an ambitious new chapter.
Mr Stirzaker, who has operated his own accountancy firm for 15 years, transitioned from advisor to owner. He said: "I've had my own accountancy business for 15 years and the previous owner was one of my clients, she wanted to sell it on and I thought it would be a good opportunity."
"I bought the caf as I saw potential in it but my passion is customer service and providing a safe place for local businesses and the general public to meet up, as well as relaxing with a coffee and something nice to eat."
"The caf is not the typical caf anyone would expect to visit. Also there are not many places for local people to actually sit down in a relaxing atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the pub trade. Buzz Caf is ideally placed with great parking facilities and centrally located."
Recent interior updates, including the addition of a sofa and a bookcase, have already proven popular with the community. Behind the scenes, the team has expanded to include four new staff members and a new cook. While respecting the foundation built by the two previous owners, the menu has seen some international additions. "We've added a few things to the menu to compliment what the previous owners had already done so we have added churro's to go with the coffees and we've also added fajitas," said Mr Stirzaker.
He is looking toward the events market to provide a middle ground for couples seeking a more intimate or affordable alternative to large hotels. "For the future we are planning to cater for weddings. If people want somewhere in between the small registry office ceremonies and the big hotels who charge a lot. If we get the wedding licence we can do everything in one place! You could have the wedding, the buffet, and the dinner here as well."
With a strong focus on community spirit, the caf has already become a hub for nearby professionals. "Most of the local business use us. I am excited and proud to be owner of Buzz Caf and look forward to welcoming customers new and existing.
"It is my belief that local businesses should work together to keep trade between ourselves and thereby keeping small businesses sustainable and thriving."
