The Metro service is still suspended between Chillingham Road to St James in both directions due to a signalling issue.
Nexus is assessing the problem and aim to restore services as quickly as possible.
A68 Southbound closed due to recovery work and earlier vehicle fire from A69 (Styford Roundabout) to Broomhaugh Roundabout. Traffic is coping well.
"At 11:33am, Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a vehicle fire on the A68 near Corbridge. One appliance from Hexham Fire Station attended the incident. On arrival, crews extinguished the fire before handing the incident over to Northumbria Police. NFRS left the scene at 12:31pm."

Road closed - map. This shows where the vehicle fire is understood to be - in the vicinity of Brockbushes at Corbridge. Where the A68 meets the A69.
We understand the A68 is closed at Corbridge due to a vehicle fire. More to follow.
Both those incidents appear to have been resolved
Traffic monitoring is also showing the A193 New Bridge Street in both directions partially blocked, and with slow traffic due to police incident from B1312 Byker Bank (Byker West roundabout ) to B1600 Crawhall Road. More to follow.

This is everything you need to know about the earlier closure. We've run down exactly what we know from this morning's incident - understood to have seen someone taken to hospital for further treatment.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: We received a call at 4.42am on Thursday 4 December to reports of an incident on the quayside in Newcastle.
"We dispatched two ambulance crews, two clinical team leaders, and two crews from our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART). One patient was taken to hospital for further treatment."

Reminder - huge queues due to closure on the Tyne Bridge - in both directions. Traffic is now backed up for miles through Gateshead and back into Newcastle.

In a now-deleted post on X Highways England North East said that the Tyne Tunnels were closed. We understand this not to have been the case.
