Russell Martin strips to trunks for Loch Lomond dip with ex-model girlfriend

Axed Rangers boss Russell Martin let off steam with a very public sauna and dip in Loch Lomond in the wake of his dramatic sacking.

Ibrox chiefs axed Martin on Sunday after just 123 days in the job and after he was forced to escape a furious fan protest.

But yesterday, less than 48 hours later, he was spotted in Luss stripping to his trunks and plunging into the loch after enjoying a sauna with ex-model girlfriend Lucy Pinder, 41.

Former Gers boss Steven Gerrard is the fans favourite to replace the ex-Southampton and Swansea chief as new manager.

Martins newly-unemployed status didnt seem to be bothering him yesterday as he posed for selfies with Lucy at the same spot he had taken his squad wild swimming weeks earlier.

One stunned onlooker said: I couldnt believe it was him having a wee dip in Luss so soon after he was fired. He seemed quite happy, upbeat and chipper.

He doesnt look too despondent considering whats happened over the last few days.

It was a bit of a manky afternoon. He turned up early and went for a wee walk along the village and into the shop.

When he left he headed down to the Hot Tottie sauna and waited for his slot, which was about 1pm.

Its a panoramic view you get from the wee sauna cabin.

He was with his girlfriend and it looked like a romantic afternoon. They were sitting on the benches looking across the loch at one point. She was touching his nose and they were cuddling a lot.

They spent about an hour there. He had a couple of dips in and out of the loch then they headed off.

He went under the radar. Im sure one of two people clocked him, but its mainly tourists around there so it was probably an ideal day out for him.

Martin donned a pair of duck egg blue shorts for his loch dip yesterday while Pinder wore a black swimsuit.

Martin is believed to have started dating the model, one of the most popular lads mags pin-ups of the Noughties, last year, with reports saying she was excited to be joining him in Scotland.

The former boss is known to be vegan, with a love of ice baths, wild swimming and meditation.

Last month it emerged that under-pressure Martin had taken his players wild swimming at Loch Lomond as part of a team-bonding exercise. The squad went for a dip before a hike up Conic Hill.
