A well-known relation of one of this year's Love Island contestants has revealed they were behind their appearance on the ITV show this summer.
Throughout the eight-week run of the 13th series of the dating reality programme, viewers were swift to discover the islanders' unexpected links. Among them was Samraj Toor, who departed the villa mere days before the finale.
He exited alongside Mica Harris and the couple have been making the most of their time since leaving. They were recently seen celebrating in Mica's home country of Barbados.
During the series, it emerged that the 25-year-old model had a notable connection. Reports suggested that Jazzy B is Samraj's uncle.
While Samraj himself calls the star his 'uncle', he is in fact a family friend, reports OK!
Samraj's famous uncle has spoken out (Image: ITV)Now the celebrity has not only disclosed how he truly knows the reality television personality but that he orchestrated his participation on the programme. Speaking on BBC Radio Asian Network, he explained to the host: " Samraj is actually one of my best friend's son. Beautiful guy, man. Such a humble kid."
He continued to confirm that he has known him since infancy and has urged him to embrace his post-Love Island life.
Jazzy added: "I know a lot of people that are dissing it too but that's part of the package. I already told him, 'Hey, you wanna live your dreams, you're going to hear things from people.'" It appears that Samraj's mother harboured serious doubts about her son's participation in Love Island. Had it not been for his musician uncle stepping in, he might never have entered the villa.
The singer confessed: "I was talking to his mum, she wasn't happy about it (appearing on Love Island), she's a desi girl, a proper desi girl. 'Oh, Jazzy I don't like it...'".
He added: "Hey, let him live his dream man, you know what I mean. Don't hold the kids back. But I go, 'Yo, girl, chill. Let the boy live."
The radio host sought clarification, asking: "So if it wasn't for you talking to Samraj's mum, he might not have gone in the villa?" Jazzy confirmed: "That's it, that's it man."
The pair had a reunion (Image: Instagram / @jazzyb)Beyond discussing Samraj on air, Jazzy B also featured in one of his social media updates.
Samraj recently posted an Instagram story informing his followers that he was back in Birmingham and would "link up with the one and only". The footage then reveals Jazzy B walking beside Samraj.
Addressing the camera, he declared: "From Canada to the worldwide, baby." Jazzy also shared his own post celebrating their touching reunion.
In an Instagram caption, he said: "Love island wala munda. Keep your head up and live your dreams I'm still living mine don't let people judge you people will always have something to say just be positive and keep spreading that love out there and thank Waheguru ji everyday."
Love Island is streaming on ITVX.
