'Last spin boys' Social media videos claim to show five teens just before fatal M9 crash

The five young men died after travelling in a high-powered BMW the wrong way along the M9, where they collided with a family heading to Dublin Airport in the early hours of Sunday morning

Multiple social media accounts have posted videos purporting to show the five teenagers who died in the M9 crash during the hours before the tragedy occurred.

The five young men lost their lives after travelling in a high-powered BMW the wrong way along the M9, where they collided with a family heading to Dublin Airport in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Jeremy O'Brien, 18, from Carlow; Alex McCarthy, 17, from Carlow; Joey Carthy, 15, from Athy, Kildare; Jack Kennedy, 17, also from Athy; and Kamil Pustkowski, 17, from Limerick were all pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.

Footage has since emerged, allegedly showing the victims in their final hours, and has been extensively circulated across various social media platforms.

One video, shared online, includes the caption: "Ur last spin boys. To hear your voices in this boys has me in a pain that can't be described.", reports the Irish Mirror, reports Dublin Live.

The clip, which seems to have been filmed from within a moving vehicle, shows a patrol car following behind with its blue lights activated.

Another video, recorded from inside a BMW travelling along a main road, pans towards the passenger seat, where a male can be seen wearing a black balaclava.

The footage carries the captions: "I love ya brother" and "Gonna be missed boys."

The authenticity and timing of the individual clips have not been independently verified, and it remains unclear whether all of the footage is connected to the five teenagers who died. The footage has been widely circulated on social media in the wake of the fatal collision, with some accounts claiming the videos show the young men in the BMW prior to the crash.

In the meantime, garda are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision, while Fiosru, the Garda Sochna Ombudsman, is also scrutinising Garda contact with the BMW before the incident.

The online circulation of the clips is likely to aid efforts to piece together the movements of the vehicle and its occupants in the period leading up to the fatal crash.
