Celine Dion has issued a new health update as she continues to battle Stiff Person Syndrome, after being forced to cancel a string of live concerts in 2023 and 2024. The Its All Coming Back to Me Now songstress was diagnosed with the rare neurological disorder in December 2022; the condition affects an estimated 1-2million people worldwide and causes muscle spasms and painful stiffness that gets worse over time.
Now, however, Celine is ready to take to the stage again, and told Harpers Bazaar: Its a progressive condition. I dont like to say disease. She said despite the diagnosis she is now so ready to begin touring again, admitting: Im feeling good, Im strong, Im feeling excited, obviously, and of course a little nervous.
I'm doing great, managing my health, feeling good. I'm singing again, even doing a little bit of dancing.
But I have to tell you something very important: Over these last few years, every day that's gone by, I felt your prayers and support, your kindness and love.
I am grateful to all of you. I can't wait to see you again."
In her new Harpers interview, Celine said she developed a new appreciation for nature while spending years isolated from her fans, admitting: I love trees so much, and I had this vision of myself trying to disappear through the leaves.
She said the barren trees in autumn felt like a metaphor for her own life.
Now Celine is preparing for her tour, and gave herself a pep talk: Well girl, if you dont want to sign autographs and you dont want to get yourself pretty and you dont want to be disturbed because your pasta is going to get cold, you can always stay home. But look at what you have.
To prepare for her 10-date Paris residency later this year, Celine has been undergoing a vigorous exercise routine, consisting of three 90-minute Pilates sessions a week and two ballet classes a week.
