Galway GAA condolences to former star as wife dies after illness battle

Tributes have poured in for Julie Moore

A Galway GAA club have issued their condolences to one of their former players whose wife sadly passed away in Singapore.


Pdraig Pearse GAA club issued a tribute to Julie Moore, the wife of their former player Kevin Moore.


Julie - formerly of Corcullen, Galway, and Rathedmond, Sligo - sadly passed away at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore, on 8th July 2026, after a short illness. She was just 48 years old.


The GAA club posted a tribute to her on social media, offering condolences to Kevin.

They said: "All at Padraig Pearses GAA Club wish to offer our sincere sympathy to the Moore family, Ballymacward on the sad passing of Julie Moore.


"To Kevin, her husband, former player and to Noel, who was a big part of St Kerrils football club for many years also, Cathy & extended family, our thoughts & prayers are with you all at this difficult time. Go raibh s i suaimhneas sora."

Julie passed surrounded by family and will be deeply missed by her husband Kevin, her children Elena and Dara, her parents Seamus and Dorothy, brothers Peter, Gary and Alan, sister Louise, their spouses and partners, her nieces and nephews, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, extended family, and her many friends.

Julie was laid to rest in the New Cemetery, Ballymacward following a ceremony at St Peter and Pauls Church, Ballymacward today.


Her family have thanked those offering their condolences as well as the staff at Mount Elizabeth Hospital Novena, Singapore, and St Lukes Medical Center, Manila, Philippines for the care given to Julie during her illness.
