The Geograph App

Our app allows you to take, upload, and submit photos to Geograph Britain and Ireland, review your recent submissions, view maps, and search for images directly from your device.

Before you start

To use the app, you must have a Geograph account. Registration is not yet available inside the app, so please create your account here first.

Get the App

The Geograph App is not found in the Google Play or Apple App Stores. Instead, you access it directly via your web browser, but can also install it to function like a native app, with a quick access icon you can add to your home screen.

For the best experience (taking and uploading photos in the field), open this URL on your mobile device:

geograph.org.uk/app

Once opened on your mobile, you have two choices:

  1. Use directly: Just use it in your mobile browser like any other website.
  2. Install it: Use Chrome (Android) or Safari (iOS) to "Add to Home Screen." This installs the app icon on your device so it works just like a native app.

Once the app is open in Chrome, tap the menu (⋮) and select "Add to home screen" or "Install" to use it like a native app.
