Millions of people are set to receive an annual one-off Christmas bonus from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
The payment will automatically land in eligible claimants' accounts alongside their normal monthly benefits payment. People do not have to apply for the bonus.
The 10 payment is set to hit bank accounts during the first week in December. Pensioners and more than 2.7m people receiving Personal Independence Payments (PIP) are among those entitled to the bonus. People who claim only Universal Credit will not receive the Christmas cash.

The Government said of the extra payment: "The Christmas Bonus is a one-off tax-free 10 payment made before Christmas, paid to people who get certain benefits in the qualifying week. This is normally the first full week of December." They stressed claimants will be paid automatically.
