Enis Destan's short-lived career at Hull City is over after the club agreed a permanent deal with Turkish Super Lig side Konyaspor for the striker.

Destan's move back to Turkey was confirmed on Friday after City sanctioned his exit from the MKM Stadium just a year after he arrived on a free transfer from Trabzonspor. It's understood the Tigers have agreed to cancel his contract to enable him to return to Turkey, with a future sell-on clause inserted into the agreement.

Earlier in pre-season Destan scored against Konyapor with a fine header from Nathan Tinsdale's cross as City began their campaign with a 3-0 win over the Super Lig side..

The 24-year-old frontman played 18 times in the Championship for City last season, scoring twice. Those two goals came in successive games against Portsmouth and QPR.

Destan ended the season on loan in Belgium with Westerlo. With his move back in January, he helped the Tigers bring in new signings at a time when they were working under transfer fee restrictions. Liverpool youngster Lewis Koumas' arrival was a direct replacement after he moved on.

Unfortunately for Destan, he joined the Belgian side with a knee injury and was restricted to just three appearances before he returned to the MKM Stadium at the start of pre-season.

Boss Sergej Jakirovic is understood to have spoken to Destan last week and indicated that he felt the striker's chances would be extremely limited in the Premier League, and he was left out of the squad that travelled to Frankfurt.

Destan's departure leaves City with a lack of cover for Oli McBurnie, though it's understood the club are closing in on the signing of another forward player, in addition to Joe Gelhardt, who will see his move from Leeds United confirmed before Saturday's home meeting with OGC Nice at the MKM Stadium.
