The premiere of a locally-shot film that was also penned by an East Yorkshire actress and screenwriter will be held in Beverley. The proof-of-concept short film will be screened at a private red-carpet affair at the Parkway Cinema, on Sunday, August 9, for those close to the project - and it is hoped eyes will be on it that will help generate the backing needed to turn it into a full feature film or a TV series.

Justine Glenton, of Just Be Productions Ltd, is the creator-producer behind the psychological thriller, Is Anybody There? Justine, who was born in Beverley and grew up in North Ferriby, praised the unity of Hull businesses that had stepped forward to offer help.

We were so grateful to the local, East Yorkshire businesses that supported us in our film making, she said. The Hotham Hall Estate; MKM; Everingham Park; Guest & Philips Jewellers; Cartmell Menswear; Matthew Limb Estate Agency; The Village Hotel and our caterers Annikas Apron - they were all so behind us with our vision and were most generous.

Filming began in February on the Hotham Hall Estate, near North Cave, and at Everingham Park. Justine said: We went on to have the most successful shoot with no mishaps and perfect weather throughout.

We got the film over the line successfully and it has since been in post-production at Core Post, in Manchester. It was edited by the award-winning Matt Brown, who received high acclaim for his work on the Sky and Netflix hit, Brassic, and the BBC s Peter Kay's Car Share, to name a few.

The production shots for Is Anybody There? are by Beverley-based Chris Ramage, the films Royal Television Society director of photography. Ramage recently won The Profile Award for his work on Corriedale - a 60-minute crossover between Coronation Street and Emmerdale - and the new poster image for Is Anybody There? is also his handiwork, with the poster design created by Philippe Machare.

Justine has been busy completing the third draft of the would-be feature film/TV series script and the concepts director Michael Lacey, known for Silent Witness, has agreed to be on board to direct. Martin Campbell, an ITV producer currently producing the TV series, The Bay, has been attracted to the project since its been filmed and has joined the team to help take the project to full feature or TV series, Justine said.

I firmly believe its going to go all the way. Justine said she felt the concept, with its authenticity as it is based on a true story, was primed for a prequel and a sequel and had longevity for a series, with the promise of sustainable work in Yorkshire.

Just Be Productions were thrilled to utilise the wealth of Yorkshire's creative talent, behind and in front of the camera, with the full intention of generating further work and production in the area, increasing its profile and having a positive effect on the regional supply chain, she said. Its all really exciting.

Im going to start producing stuff here and trying to utilise the amazing talent thats here - why do we have to go out of the area for it? This is just the beginning.

Justine said: The film will have its premiere screening at Parkway Cinema, who have been equally supportive of and cheerleading for this East Yorkshire project. Hullywood here we come!

She encouraged anyone with an interest in investing in the project going forwards to get in touch with Just Be Productions.
