Gardai have launched a probe after a firearm was dischaged in the middle of the day in Limerick on Monday.
The shocking incident took place on Childers Road in Limerick at around 3pm.
Garda confirmed that nobody was injured and no arrests have been made yet.
In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said: "An Garda Sochna are appealing for witnesses following a report of a firearm being discharged on Childers Road, Limerick, this afternoon, Monday 17th August 2026.
"Garda received a report at approximately 3pm. No injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made at this time.
"Anyone who was in the Childers Road area between approximately 02.30pm and 03.30pm, and who may have witnessed the incident or have any information which could assist the investigation, is asked to contact Henry Street Garda Station on 061 212 400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station."
