A stolen vehicle rammed into a Garda car during a "containment operation" in Dublin on Monday.
Two officers were taken to hospital and have subsequently been released.
The car was stolen during a burglary in Santry on Monday, August 10.
Cops then discovered the car shortly before midnight on Tuesday. Garda from the DMR West Roads policing unit, along with the Blanchardstown and Meath South Community Engagement, began a "managed containment operation" at the Ward.
At this point, the stolen car collided with the patrol car and the suspects fled on foot.
In a statement, Garda said: "Garda commenced an investigation following an incident of burglary and the unauthorised taking of a car in the Santry area on 10 August 2026.
"On the evening of Monday 11 August 2026 shortly before midnight, Garda from DMR West Roads Policing Unit, and Blanchardstown and Meath South Community Engagement, were involved in a related managed containment operation at the Ward, Dublin 11.
"During the course of the operation, the stolen car collided with a marked patrol vehicle. The occupants of the stolen vehicle fled on foot. Two members of An Garda Sochna exited the vehicle and received assistance. Both were conveyed to hospital for treatment.
"Both members of An Garda Sochna have since been released from hospital. An Garda Sochna continues to provide welfare support to the members as they recuperate, and to their families.
