Laura Whitmore caused quite the stir during an appearance on Saturday Kitchen, when she stunned her fellow guests as she revealed her controversial favourite snack.
With 41-year-old Laura included in a segment on the BBC show's Saturday Kitchen Best Bites this weekend, fans and the panel were united in shock over Laura's snack of choice.
Manchester Evening News reports that host Matt Tebbutt introduced the episode by saying: "We're on our holidays, so instead of normal Saturday service, we're whisking you off around the world, delivering Sri Lankan spice, Ukrainian classics, Cypriot sunshine and a beautiful British afternoon tea in drink form. This is Saturday Kitchen Best Bites."
Irish TV presenter Laura made headlines when she appeared on the series in 2022, when she discussed her love of food and cited seafood linguine as her dream meal.
But the former Love Island host was then quizzed about what Matt had heard about Laura's favourite snack. "So Laura, a little birdy tells me you love eating raw mushrooms with mayonnaise?" he asked.
Laura laughed out loud and admitted to her love of raw mushrooms, proceeding to pick one up and eat it which left fellow guests Helen McGinn and Paul A. Young watching on in horror.
Drinks expert Helen said: "Just don't want to watch... oh my gosh she eats it like an apple", with Chocolatier Paul adding: "I can't even watch."
Laura was then presented with her own plate of raw mushrooms and two bottles of her personalised mayonnaise 'Whit-Mayo'. To complete her meal Laura added some cheese on top of it.
Providing some insight into how she learned she loved the unorthodox snack in the first place, Laura stated: "Thats what I used to do when I was younger."
When it came time for Laura to find out if shed have her food heaven and food hell, she was tasked with choosing out of the mayonnaise bottles. Picking out a blue bottle, this meant she was given her food heaven.
Proceeding to eat another mushroom with mayo on top, she joked: "That is lovely.... it gets the palate going for a seafood linguine."
It's been a busy time for Laura, with she and her husband Iain Stirling currently expecting their second child. The couple are already parents to daughter Stevie R, who was born in 2021.
