A food critic regarded as the nation's "most honest" believes he may have stumbled upon "Ireland's cheapest Indian takeaway" and it was situated just 45 minutes outside his home city of Dublin.

The content creator, known online as Paul_IsItWorthIt, has journeyed across the country in search of the most delicious dining establishments.

His latest expedition took him to what he considers perhaps his "favourite spot in Ireland" Drogheda in County Louth, which has essentially become a second home for the channel.

Regarding his top three food destinations, Paul added: "Limerick, Cork and Louth would probably be my top three. We're from Dublin, apart from Dublin, but I love Louth."

Speaking to his followers, he continued: "Cork has the best food spots like pound for pound but today we are down in Chaat Masala.

"Why are we down here? Because we've done nearly every spot in Drogheda but the difference with this one is I think it's the cheapest Indian takeaway in Ireland."

Driving his point home, he further stated: "I think this might be the cheapest Indian I've seen in Ireland."

The eatery on Trinity Street presents customers with a starter, a main course and a choice of either naan bread or steamed rice for 20.50.

Reflecting on the pricing, Paul remarked: "20.50 for a two-course meal in an Indian? Even though it is takeaway [that] is fantastic value."

Regarding the appetiser, he selected a Kolkata chilli chicken dish. He observed that it appeared appetising and represented quite a substantial serving, considering it was merely a starter option.

Sampling it, he remarked: "Oh, that's a lovely starter. Kind of citrusy, not spicy. Like a Korean sort of taste off it. Very nice, the chicken is cooked really really well."

Concerning the principal course, he noted that it similarly looked visually appealing, and had an enticing aroma.

Nevertheless, he felt the sauce might have been richer, implying it was overly "tomatoey".

Yet regarding the protein, he commented: "The chicken's cooked unbelievably well."

Paul additionally sampled a spice bag simply because it was so peculiar to encounter one in an Indian restaurant though declared it disappointing.

Still, summarising his impressions, he praised the naan for being fresh, before stating: "It's fantastically priced it's very well priced.

"Ireland's best priced Indian? Let us know. Is there a better priced Indian? We'll go there because we are trying to get more Indians on. We both love Indian food but it is quite expensive."

He ultimately awarded it a decent rating of 7.4 out of 10 and he determined that Louth might be his preferred county in the nation.

Though, chuckling, he made clear: "In terms of the channel, definitely not in terms of scenery or anything like that..."

Following the upload of the footage, which you can view in full here, one viewer wrote: "You said Louth is not your favourite for scenery?

"Take a trip to Carlingford/Omeath area if you want to see some of the nicest scenery. Clogherhead is beautiful too."
