WWE legend Jim Ross shares result of scary brain surgery as fans offer support

Iconic wrestling announcer Jim Ross received an outpouring of support after providing fans a behind-the-scenes look at his recovery from brain surgery.

On Saturday, Ross shared a close-up image of the stitches he received to close up the horseshoe-shaped incision that was made on the side of his head. "The proof is in the pudding!" he captioned the post.

Taking to the comment section, droves of X users wished Ross a speedy recovery. Elsewhere in the wrestling world, Triple H urged WWE fans earlier this month to take Brock Lesnar's passing of the torch moment at SummerSlam "at face value".

Oh wow, get well soon Jim. Praying for your speedy recovery, one X user wrote, with another adding: You got this my man we are all rooting for you!!!

A third chimed in: Glad you're on the mend, JR. Can't wait to hear you back in AEW.

While making an appearance on his Grilling JR podcast back in May, Ross revealed that he was undergoing neurological testing to determine if he had developed dementia or Alzheimers disease.

"I had a very positive doctor's appointment with my neurologist," he said at the time. "The neurologist and I had an appointment, and they took a bunch of blood and ran some tests. I think they're worried about ... dementia, or Alzheimer's.

I said, 'What the hell are you going to do about it?' There's not a cure. If there's meds I should be taking, preventatively, tell me what they are and I'll do it. But we'll see how it works out.

But, I'm going through a lot of tests now. I don't feel bad at all, I feel great, actually.

Following several health scares, however, Ross realized that he needed to take drastic action to address his memory, neurological and balance issues. The voice of All Elite Wrestling disclosed that he was discovered unconscious at his home, and later underwent a 40-day stay in the hospital.

Im getting ready to have another surgery, brain surgery this time, and thats going to be an adventure, because I dont think theyre going to find much, oh God, my brain, Ross said last month.

I gotta get it addressed. I couldnt live my life the way it was, you know. I forget s--- and just couldnt remember things.

Its just horrible. I felt horrible, but that all started with me passing out in my house and being discovered there, and we began an almost 40-day hospital stay.

Ross subsequently underwent shunt surgery, during which doctors drilled a hole into his skull and inserted a small tube to drain excess brain fluid.

Its not optional if I want to get better, and I want to get better for sure, he said. This is a whole new ball game, and its a little scary to be honest with you.
