The account is covered by the Swedish deposit guarantee scheme in accordance with a decision by the Swedish National Debt Office. What is cashback?
Cashback is earned as points when you shop with Klarna. You can earn cashback on eligible purchases made in the Klarna app, and with a membership, you can also earn cashback on all debit purchases with the Klarna Card or when you pay in full with your Klarna balance.
All your cashback adds up in one place. You can convert it to money in your Klarna balance, or choose to redeem it for airline and hotel points with a membership.
Who can earn cashback?
Everyone eligible for the Klarna balance can receive cashback from participating shops. Please note that whilst you can start earning cashback before activating your Klarna balance, your Klarna balance needs to be active to receive your earned cashback.
How does cashback work?
When you shop at participating shops in the Klarna app, you earn a percentage of your purchase back as cashback. Your cashback will accumulate automatically and you decide when to redeem it.
Can I earn cashback if I do not pay with Klarna?
Yes. You can earn cashback on eligible purchases made through the Klarna app, no matter how you choose to pay. However, we recommend paying with Klarna, as it allows us to better support you if there are any issues with your cashback.
Is cashback related to instalment payments?
Cashback can be earned regardless of whether or not youre splitting your payment.
How long does it take for cashback to be paid?
It depends on the store. For most, it takes between 35 to 95 days for your purchase to be confirmed and cashback to become available to redeem.
How much cashback can I receive?
Theres no earning limit to how much cashback you can earn.
Does my cashback have an expiration date?
Cashback never expires with a membership.
Without a membership, cashback remains active as long as you earn or redeem at least once every 90 days. If your account is inactive for 90 days, your cashback may expire. If you already have a Klarna balance, we'll automatically move your cashback there before it expires.
How can I redeem cashback?
Convert cashback to money in your Klarna balance in the Klarna app. With a membership, you also have the option to redeem cashback for airline and hotel points.
Can I shop Klarna deals and earn cashback?
Yes, you can shop Klarna deals when paying with Klarna and earn cashback at the same time, enjoying both savings and cashback benefits.
Can I still earn cashback and points with my usual loyalty cards?
Yes, you can earn cashback and points with your loyalty cards. Cashback operates independently from existing loyalty programmes. Adding your regular loyalty card at checkout lets you earn both regular loyalty points and Klarna cashback.
