What 500,000 buys you in Greater Manchester's most affordable borough

This week's Property of the Week is a luxury four-bed detached house in Tyldesley

Known as Greater Manchester's most affordable borough, Wigan offers more bang for your buck when it comes to buying properties.

The average house price was 188,048 over the last year, according to Zoopla, with the majority of homes sold being semi-detached properties selling for an average price of 197,617.

Terraced properties sold for an average of 142,281, whilst detached properties fetched 293,881.

As part of this week's Property of the Week, we are looking at what you can buy for 500,000 in the borough.

Each week, the Manchester Evening News' property writer picks a home that is up for grabs across the region, chosen for its stand-out design, desirable location or grand size.

Last week, we looked at what 500,000 can buy you in Stockport and found a stylish three-bed semi-detached house for sale in the sought-after area of Cheadle Hulme.

As expected, 500k can stretch much further in Wigan. This four-bed detached house has just been put on the market in Tyldesley in one of the area's 'most prestigious modern developments'.

Built in 2020, the house makes a strong first impressive with its attractive modern exterior and offers a large space for a growing family.

Inside the house has recently been updated with a sleek and tasteful interior style and a range of high-end upgrades.
