Victoria Beckham and daughter-in-law, Nicola Peltz, seemed like the best of pals when Brooklyn announced his engagement news five years ago.

After wooing the billionaire heiress, 31, the hot sauce enthusiast, 27, got down on one knee after admitting he was 'smitten' with his bride-to-be.

Initially, Nicola seemed to be delighted with her new family, posing for sweet snaps with David and Victoria and her "perfect little sis", Harper. She also proudly posed in one of Victoria's dresses for her engagement photos with Brooklyn, with fans certain she would be wearing one of Posh Spice's designs for her wedding day.

However, in September 2021 things took a turn when Brooklyn and Nicola went to the Met Ball in New York.

At the showbiz event, which attracts a slew of stars each year, Nicola wore Valentino, not Victoria Beckham. After posting snaps of herself at the event, which hits all the headlines all over the world thanks to its fashion-forward attendees, Victoria nor David failed to like Nicola's pictures.

In the same month, Brooklyn and Nicola rocked up at Paris Fashion Week where they posed for snaps while praising Givenchy and Valentino. Again, no likes from the Beckhams.

Soon afterwards, Brooklyn and Nicola appeared on the cover of the Hong Kong edition of Vogue magazine. However, the only image liked by David and Victoria was the digital cover of Brooklyn on his own. The cover which featured the loved up couple was markedly not liked by his parents.

Alison Boshoff writes in her new book: "The not liking posts is undoubtedly pointed and petty but is very Victoria, observed one of her friends."

Claiming the star would be affected by a perceived lack of disrespect, it continues: "She is 100 per cent the kind of person who will perceive a slight and nurse her upset over it."

Despite the cracks beginning to show, the Beckhams did attend Brooklyn and Nicola's wedding, but things turned sour again. Instead of wearing one of her mother-in-law's designs, the actress wore Valentino- again, with Victoria's atelier reportedly not having enough time to make the dress.

Fast forward three years and Brooklyn went nuclear on his parents in January after months of rumours of a feud in a the famous family.

In a savage statement, he accused Victoria of 'dancing on him' inappropriately at his wedding as well as trying to sabotage his relationship with his wife.

The Mirror has contacted Victoria's representative for comment.
