Christina Applegate has been hospitalised amid her heartbreaking battle with MS (multiple sclerosis). The Hollywood actress, 54, who also played Rachel Greene's sister Amy in the iconic sitcom Friends, was diagnosed with the chronic autoimmune disease in 2021.
Christina recently admitted that the condition, which causes muscle weakness, vision problems, numbness and cognitive issues, had left her mainly confined to her bed due to the severe pain she had been experiencing. However, it's now been reported that the mum-of-one, who shares daughter, Sadie Grace, with musician, Martyn LeNoble, was taken to hospital late last month, with a reason yet to be revealed.
Following the reports from TMZ, Christina's agent told the Mirror : "I have no comment on whether she is in the hospital or what her medical treatments are. She's had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast."
Explaining how her condition was affecting her life, Christina revealed in February that she was struggling to get out of bed - but would still force herself to find the energy to take her teenage daughter, Sadie, to school.

Conceding that sometimes 'people's lives f*****g suck', she told People magazine : "I want to take her; it's my favourite thing to do. It's the only time we have together by ourselves. I tell myself: 'Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.' And that's what I do."
Christina continued: "My life isn't wrapped up with a bow. People's lives, sorry for lack of a better term, f*****g suck sometimes. So I'm being as honest and raw as I possibly can."
The Married...With Children star also reflected on her illness in her memoir, The Sad Eyes, which was published in the Guardian in March.
Revealing that one of the worst side effects is exhaustion, she writes: "'One of the worst side-effects of the illness is the exhaustion.
"It feels as though I've been on a threeday sleepless bender and that's how I feel after a good night's sleep. Hence all the time I spend on and in bed, snuggled up against my heating pad."
Conceding she no longer has 'patience for bulls**t' or 'things that are meaningless', she continued: "On the back of that diagnosis and the symptoms I face, I no longer care what I say or how I come across or how it makes anyone feel.
"I don't have patience for bulls*** any more, for things that are meaningless or merely 'extra."'
The Dead to Me star hared the news of her MS diagnosis on social media in August 2021. Taking to Instagram, she wrote: "Hi friends. A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS. It's been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition,' she had explained at the time.
'It's been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going."
