EXCLUSIVE: Coleen Rooney 'trusts' Wayne again and is showing defiance and power according to body language expert

After a surprise joint appearance at Aintree, body language expert, Judi James gives her verdict on Coleen and Wayne Rooney's behaviour at the races

Coleen and Wayne Rooney put on a united front at Aintree this week, with the couple appearing close and affectionate a week after Coleen celebrated her 40th birthday.

It's the first time the fashion designer, TV star and mum-of-four has attended the event with her husband, usually opting to go with her friends. She looked sensational in a cream Roland Mouret jersey maxi dress, while former Manchester United star Wayne opted for a smart in a navy suit and pale blue shirt.

The pair put on an cosy display as they enjoyed the races together, with Wayne putting his arm around his wife as they watched the action unfold. Body language expert Judi James tells the Mirror that Coleen is at "peak confidence" and fully trusts her man again.

Judi says: "This is a very sophisticated, elegant look from Coleen, whose non-verbal signals suggest she is at peak confidence, with Wayne very firmly in attendance behind her.

"Her chin is raised to suggest a level of defiance about her marriage and her power status. As she reads through the programme it's Wayne standing close behind her and leaning in to connect with some intimate-looking head closeness for this PDA while Coleen appears to be 'purring' in response.

"They look close and connected here, with head closeness usually being seen as a gesture of trust. It's Wayne instigating this moment too, closing in to suggest the couple might be wanting to signal that they're stronger than ever at this point in their lives."

It is the latest celebration for Coleen as she turned 40, and in the lead up to the milestone she had vowed to have more than one celebration.

Last week Coleen held a big party at her mansion on Good Friday and was joined by a host of celebrities including Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Darren Fletcher. As well as Coleen's WAG pals, Annie Kilner and Abbey Clancy Phil Jones and his wife Kaya Hall, Leanne Brown and Tanya and Phil Bardsley

Last month she told OK! Magazine: I love birthdays and a celebration. I have decided to enjoy a couple of different celebrations with family and friends over the year and with my birthday falling over Easter weekend, some friends are away so any opportunity to extend the celebrations!

Coleen and Wayne, who have been married since 2008 and share four sons together - Kai, 16, Klay, 12, Kit, 10, and Cass, 8 - have had their fair share of ups and downs.

Coleen has never shied away from how hard their marriage has been, with the 40-year-old describing it as a "battle" in an interview with British Vogue.

The couple have faced intense speculation into their relationship over the years. More recently in February, Wayne was seen partying with a mystery woman at a boozy pre-BRIT Awards party.

Onlookers caught the former footballer looking worse for wear in the early hours, struggling to button his trousers after visiting the toilet not long after 1am.

However, at Aintree on Saturday they appeared to show that any drama is behind them.
