Dolly Parton has cancelled a huge fan event at the last minute after her doctor warned her not to travel. The 9 to 5 icon, 80, was supposed to be at her theme park, Dollywood, where she was due to open its new roller coaster. However, in news which has worried fans, the star announced she would be not attending due to ongoing "health issues".

Appearing virtually as the epic new NightFlight Expedition was unveiled, Dolly apologised, saying: Im still in Nashville, and Im sorry about that". Revealing that she had become dizzy and dehydrated, she continued: Im supposed to be there in person, like we planned. Now Ive told you before, all my fans, that I have had a few little health issues. And sometimes I get a little dizzy, and I get dehydrated."

Dolly Parton appeared at Dollywood via video, apologising for her absence

Dolly - wearing fairy wings and a pink rhinestone jumpsuit - continued: And Im dehydrated. And so my Nashville doctor clipped my wings, saying you aint traveling this week.

So I guess if your doctor tells you you aint traveling this week, you aint traveling this week, she continued, explaining that she likes keeping her fans in the loop as she promised she would on everything.

Responding to the news on social media, Dolly's fans wished her well while sharing their concern for the Jolene star.

Taking to X, one wrote: "Hope you get your well-deserved rest and are back out there soon."

Meanwhile, another shared: "I hope there's nothing seriously wrong with her. We love you Dolly!"

Dolly's last public appearance was in June when she opened her Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop, proudly cutting the unique roadside destination's pink ribbon.

However, prior to this, the star hadn't been seen in months after revealing she had been suffering from kidney stones in September.

Later that month, Dolly was again supposed to appear at Dollywood to open another attraction, but had to cancel due to her health.

Appearing at the theme park - again via video - she explained: Turns out there was an infection, and the doctor said, You dont need to be traveling around this minute, so you need a few days to get better,'.

Then, back in May, Dolly revealed via a video message that she had made the difficult choice to cancel her rescheduled Las Vegas residency performances because she would require additional time before being "up to stage performance level."

She went on to say, "The good news is I'm responding really well to meds and treatments and I'm improving every day," before adding, "I'm doing really well, and they assure me that everything I have is treatable, so I'm going with that, and I just want you to know I thank you for standing by me and that I will always love you."
