Jacob Roberts has become a firm favourite on Coronation Street as Kit Green - but what do we know about his life?

The actor joined the cast in 2024, playing bent copper Kit who rocked up as Bernie Winters (Jane Hazlegrove) estranged son - and it didnt take him long to become involved in some big soap moments.

And over in the soap at the moment, it appears things are set to take a dramatic turn for Kit after his girlfriend Sarah (Tina O'Brien) was arrested for murdering Theo Silverton (James Cartwright).

In Tuesdays episode (July 21), Sarah was told she would likely be sent straight to prison. And with Kit attempting to help her get away with crime, it appears his superior, DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) is on to him.

Before his Corrie stint, Jacob played Damon Kinsella on Hollyoaks, and he remained on the Channel 4 soap for six years, leaving in 2023. He then bagged the role as Kit on Coronation Street a year later

But just three weeks before starting on the soap Jacob was clambering up ladders erecting aerials, having been unable to find other acting work since leaving Hollyoaks the previous year.

It was a low moment. Eight months previously I was on TV and now I was in the freezing cold rain on top of a roof, fiddling with a TV aerial. It was winter and I was outside up a ladder in the cold, instead of inside in the warm doing lines it was a total reality check and hard to take, he shared.

Jacob added: I was dreading anyone recognising me and saying: Werent you on Hollyoaks?' I wasnt being pretentious, but I was there to work and I didnt want the attention.

He is loved-up with his soap colleague

In October 2025, Jacob went Instagram official with his new girlfriend, whom he met on the ITV soap: Coronation Streets publicity manager Caitlin Connolly.

Talking about their alleged romance, a source at the time claimed that they had been together for a while and are besotted with each other - with the insider nothing its been an open secret theyre an item for quite a while.

Since then, the pair have gone from strength to strength. Also in October, Jacob shared a PDA-packed photo of the pair kissing and captioned the post: My love [love heart emoji] to the Ainsworths.

And their Corrie castmates approve of the romance, with plenty rushing to the comments to swoon. Sydney Martin who plays Betsy Swain wrote: Beautiful couple. Maria Connor actress Samia Longchambon penned: Gorgeous pair!

His height is referenced on the soap

Throughout his time on the show, Kit's impressive height has frequently been referenced, with David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) even dubbing him the Jolly Green Giant.

The actor stands at an impressive 6ft 4in tall, and Jacob has previously admitted that filming scenes in the legendary Rovers Return proved somewhat tricky given his towering frame.

I love it, but I'm 6ft 4in so I don't really fit in the Rovers," he revealed in 2024. "Every time I stand at the bar they have to raise the level of the top of the bar. It feels like they're making such an effort, just for me to stand in the scene!"
