Dr Michael Mosley's son Dr Jack Mosley has paid tribute to his father on his wedding day, and shared that he left a seat reserved for his father on his special day.

Jack shared a selection of images from the day, of him dancing with his new bride Heather, enjoying dessert, and spending time with the guests. The post had a caption that read: "Best day, marrying my favourite person. Thanks to @tashbustaphotography for capturing the day. Thanks to the team @thepennestate and everyone else involved in making the day so special."

However, it was one particular image in the carousel that had fan in tears. A snap revealed the special reserved seat for Dr Michael with a white cover that read: "In loving memory of Michael Mosley. Father of the Groom. Though you are not here in person, your love and spirit surround us today.

A small chalkboard tag hung over the top of the chair with a handwritten name that read 'Mike'. Fans loved this adorable tribute, with many flooding the comments of the post with their support for Jack.

"Congratulations! So beautiful leaving a chair for your dad. He is not forgotten by the world," said one commenter. "How beautiful - congratulations. What a beautiful touch with the chair for your Dad," said another.

"Congratulations! That brought tears to my eyes seeing that chair," said a third. "Many congratulations to you both and what a lovely gesture to have had a chair there for your amazing dad. He did so much for us all," said another.

Dr Michael Mosley went missing on the Greek island of Symi in June 2024. He was on holiday with his wife and some friends when he decided to embark on a two-mile walk to a neighbouring town.

When he failed to return to their hotel, a frantic search ensued. Heartbreakingly, it was too late. The TV presenter's body was discovered four days later on a rocky stretch of terrain near a private resort called Agia Marina.

An inquest found that Michael's cause of death was "unascertainable", but that it was likely down to " either to heat stroke or non-identified pathological cause." The tragedy was a huge shock to those in the UK, with Michael's hailed for his medical advice and credited for popularising the 5:2 diet and the Fast 800, both forms of intermittent fasting.
