Molly Mae Hague gives up breastfeeding at three weeks to 'end on a high'

Molly Mae Hague has revealed that she has stopped breastfeeding her son Midas after three weeks as she explains that she wasn't enjoying the experience anymore.

The former Love Island star, 27, announced that she had given birth to her second child in early June, with her partner Tommy Fury announcing a few weeks later that they had named their child Midas with the name embroidered onto his boxing shorts ahead of a televised fight.

Now, in a new YouTube video about her experience of motherhood, Molly Mae has shared a big update: "Update on the breastfeeding is that I have actually stopped breastfeeding now. Im still pumping because my boobs still need to release because it doesnt just stop overnight. But I actually just wanted to stop on a high and not get to a point where I resent it and just enjoy it.

"Which was always my plan, I always said I want to leave it on a high. I want to remember these few weeks breastfeeding Midas as a really nice positive thing, which it has been."

She said that, as was the case with her first child Bambi, his feeds were taking an hour at minimum which she began to struggle with and was not longer enjoying. Per the breastfeeding network, newborn babies should take between 15 to 45 minutes per session (or 10-20 minutes per breast) and they should be fed 8 to 12 times in a 24 hour period.

I kinda got to a point where I was like, Ooh, Im not really enjoying this that much anymore. Which, listen, its not always meant to be always enjoyable the breastfeeding, like you do it for them.

"But I'm really happy with what I did. It's more than I thought I'd be able to to be honest. But Im really happy that Ive kind of left it on a high, and he's still having my breast milk via a bottle, mixed with a little bit of formula. It's going really really well this transition over and I'm feeling good about it."

She added that she was trying not to overthink to much for fears she's feel guilty: Im trying not to think about it too much in my head because if I think about it too much I will end up feeling guilty and feeling sad and bad about it.

But like I say, it's way more than I thought I was going to do, I literally thought I would do, like, a day and then be like, Yeah, no. This isnt good for me or my mental health, so Im really happy that I felt good doing it. And got two and a half weeks exclusive on the boob."

She added that she was so excited to start wearing perfume again and was wary about shower gel and moisturiser for fear of giving her babies a rash or irritation. She then appealed to fans to speak to them about having skin tags removed after gaining several during her pregnancy with Bambi, adding that had them across her neck and crotch.

Fans were quick to support Molly Mae's decision to stop breastfeeding, assuring her that she knew what was best for her family and didn't need to feel any guilt. Many added that her honesty in her blog made them feed more assured about their own motherhood decisions.

"Molly never feel worried about what other people think about breast feeding, youve done amazing to get as far as you have, you know whats best for you and your family and its nothing to do with anyone else!!" said one commenter.

"A fed baby is a happy baby that's all that matters. I managed 3 weeks and about 2 weeks too xxx" said another.

"I think you are doing a great job! You dont need to justify anything to anyone, what you say or what you do they are your babies! You do what works best for you and your family! keep doing you! You've got this! Your babies are thriving you should be super proud!" said another.
