A very famous Oasis fan has been invited to the premiere of their upcoming film. Next month, Liam and Noel Gallagher will step out on the red carpet in London's Leicester Square for the premiere of their Disney+ film, Don't Look Back In Anger.
And while it's expected to draw a famous crowd, one huge VIP is said to be on the list of those invited. Prime Minister Andy Burnham has made it no secret that he's a huge fan of the Manchester band, so it seemed inevitable that the two rockers would invite him to the premiere.
Andy has spoken openly about his love for the Britpop era on social media and was even granted permission by Oasis to use their track Some Might Say during his campaign for the Makerfield by-election, which resulted in him becoming an MP again.
"Burnham is a big fan of Oasis, and attending the premiere would be the icing on the cake of his year," a source said. They went on to tell The Sun: "He loved it when Noel and Liam reunited and took over Manchester for the record-breaking Live '25 gigs last year.
"Burnham has also been speaking about his Britpop music taste on TikTok and this would be the perfect opportunity for social media content." At the time of Oasis' historic return and five sold-out shows at Heaton Park last year, Andy was the Mayor of Greater Manchester.
Reflecting on the shows, Burnham said at the time: "This is the day that Manchester has been waiting for. I've had a bit of contact with Noel in recent times; they're both brilliant, actually. Noel helped us out when we were raising funds for homelessness as part of [former Manchester City captain] Vincent Kompany's testimonial year.
"And Liam helped us out last year he did the announcements on our trams to support a new music conference we have got in the city, Beyond The Music. I am just so pleased to see them back together. I never got to see them back in the day.
"I have seen them both individually, but never seen them together." In a TikTok video, Andy put Oasis at the top of his list when asked to "blind-list" his favourite bands, including Wolf Alice and The Smiths. The exciting news for Andy comes after it emerged that concert promoters SJM Concerts had an application granted for a string of dates at Knebworth.
However, the licence application doesn't state which artists would be performing at the legendary venue. The application states that the expected capacity could be 125,000 people at a time, as well as requests to cover live music, filming, late-night refreshments, and alcohol.
And Liam has appeared to confirm that the two brothers will take to the stage again at some point. One follower on X, formerly known as Twitter, asked Liam outright if there was any hope of new music, asking: "Oasis new album please please please I'm sorry but I think the new album will actually change lives."
However, this prompted a negative answer from the chart-topping icon. He said: "No, I'm just not prepared for the criticism if it doesn't sell 100 million copies in the 1st hour, cure bad breath and constipation for the nation, if it doesnt turn back time for Cher and some other s**t, let's just go to some gigs and be happy, thank you."
One fan asked Liam if he would include the Oasis song Gas Panic! in the setlist of the new tour - and he replied: "Of course."
