Reese Witherspoon has shared a photo with her daughter Ava Phillippe and its left people saying the same thing. The Legally Blonde star, 49, shares Ava and her brother Deacon with her ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe.

Witherspoon also has a third child - son Tennessee James - with talent agent Jim Toth, whom she divorced in 2023. The Academy Award winning actor and producer is a beloved face in Hollywood, known for her talent in front of the camera as well as behind the scenes, where she champions female-led stories, often adapted from novels, via her company Hello Sunshine.

Her daughter Ava was born in 1999 and looks to be following in her famous parents footsteps, recently cast in the title role of the film adaptation of the book Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me by Mariko Tamaki.

The book is a coming-of-age story centred on a toxic relationship, with themes of self worth and acceptance. Filming is taking place in Toronto, Canada.

Recently, Witherspoon shared a carousel of images taken throughout the festive season, beginning with a photo of her and Ava, 26, together.

The mother-daughter duo are both sporting black outfits with festive embellishments, with their matching blonde hair loosely framing their faces.

Theyre both looking to the camera and smiling widely. Reese simply captioned the images: Making Merry with a string of Christmas-themed emojis.

In the comments section, people were keen to comment on the resemblance between the pair.

Actor and comedian Dax Shepard said: Holy Doppelgnger!!!!! One Instagram user said: How does your daughter look more like you than you do.

A third person said: Woah I had to double take [because] I didnt know which one was you! So beautiful - both of you. A fourth said: Okay am I the only thinking that she needs to play you in your biopic.

Another person simply quipped: Copy. Paste. And another said: My goodness, you ladies are twins!

Someone else agreed: So beautiful! She is your twin. Meanwhile, another Instagram user shared: The strongest genes Ive ever seen!

But some people disagreed. One person commented: Everyone saying theyre twins but she looks exactly like Ryan, referencing Avas father Ryan Phillippe, who starred opposite Reese in the 1999 romantic teen drama, Cruel Intentions.

Someone else agreed: I see both her parents in her. And another added: she does look EXACTLY like Ryan.

Ryan, now 51, met Reese at her 21st birthday party in March of 1997, before going on to work together on Cruel Intentions.

They were married in June 1999 and welcomed Ava three months later. Son Deacon followed in 2003. The couple announced their separation in November 2006, going on to finalise their divorce in 2007 and 2008.
