Fans think that Spandau Ballet could treat us all to an unexpected reunion after a couple of the members revealed that theyd been spending time together.

On Instagram on March 13, guitarist Gary Kemp wowed his followers with a selfie of himself and bandmate John Keeble. Gary, 65, and drummer John, 65, looked happy to be reunited in the photo, getting close together for the shot as John threw his arm over Garys shoulders. Both musicians were wrapped up in warm jackets and smiled at the camera, with Gary captioning the iconic snap: Just spent the day with this fella!

In the comment section fans instantly thought that new music or a tour could be on the way, with one writing: "Looking well. Must be time for some tour dates GK! The best news we have seen in ages! exclaimed a second along with heart emojis, while a third asked: Lovely news!! What are you planning?

The band was last active in 2019, and Gary has said that a reunion would hinge on vocalist Tony Hadley - who quit the group in 2017 following years of infighting(Image: SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images)

That fellow is the 'glue' in Spandau Ballet. Go work together again and enjoy music together, another demanded, while a fifth fan simply noted: One down, three to go.

Alongside Gary and John, the original Spandau Ballet lineup included Garys brother Martin Kemp, singer Tony Hadley, and saxophonist Steve Norman. Unfortunately, the London-based group first split in 1990, amid a bitter legal dispute between Tony, John and Steve versus the Kemps over songwriting royalties.

They then reformed in 2009, before Tony left in 2017. The remaining bandmates replaced him with disgraced musician Ross William Wild, but havent worked together since he left in 2019. Despite the bad blood between Gary and Tony, Gary has made it clear that he would be willing to overlook the past to see the full lineup reunite again.

Speaking to Uncut about the possibility of a reunion, he shared: I'm not not up for it. If we were going to do it, it would have to be with Tony. When he wants to do it, then I'll be up for getting in the rehearsal room. One hundred per cent. Unfortunately, Garys plans might not come to fruition after Tony previously said that he would not get back with the band in a million years.

They'd like to get back together, I wouldn't. I want to be happy in life and I'm very lucky, I've got wonderful family and friends. I've got a fantastic band and I love what I do and I'm enjoying it. I don't have any pressures as such, Tony shared.

Back in 2020, Gary admitted that he couldnt necessarily see a future for Spandau Ballet despite his hopes. I have a lot of stuff going on outside of Spandau Ballet. Weve been through quite a lot of disruption over the last few years. And I dont know really where thats left us, to be honest, he told Parklife DC.
