I've always taken good care of my hair, or at least tried to, so when it started feeling flatter, drier and noticeably thinner, I couldn't work out what had changed. It wasn't until I realised the hard water in my area could be contributing to the problem that I began looking for products that could strengthen and soften my hair.

From the very first wash, my hair felt noticeably cleaner without being stripped of moisture or hydration. The lightweight formula left it feeling so soft, smooth and generally just easier to manage.

I have incorporated a few other changes into my hair routine, such as using a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove any scalp build-up and essentially reset my hair for the week. My current favourites are the Olaplex No. 4C Bond Maintenance Deep Clean Clarifying Shampoo and the Clara Cleanse & Refresh Clarifying Shampoo. Investing in a good heat protectant is also key. I tend to lean towards dry mists that I can spray on my hair before straightening or curling, such as the Maria Nila Shaping Heat Spray.

The next step in my hair restoration journey is to switch out my shower head for a filter that removes damaging hard water minerals.

It's definitely not an overnight miracle, and it definitely comes with a hefty price tag, but consistent use of this shampoo has saved my brittle hair. For extra softness, I paired it with the matching Thickening Conditioner (34).
