The headline on a previous version of our article published on 27 November 2023 incorrectly suggested that Jonathan Broadhead, a Metropolitan Police Service officer, had "threatened woman with shears". In fact, Broadhead was called to a report of a 10-year-old girl threatening a woman with garden shears, which resulted in the officer Tasering the 10-year-old. We would like to make clear that at no point did Broadhead threaten the woman with shears. In November 2023, after a four-day hearing, an independently chaired disciplinary panel found Police Constable Jonathan Broadhead did not use unnecessary and unreasonable force when he Tasered the child. We are happy to clarify this and the article has been amended accordingly, here.
