We always knew that GTA 6 was going to sell an absolute metric tonne of copies, but early revenue estimates from publisher Take-Two have blown even our most wild predictions out of the water.
As revealed in a recent earnings report, Take-Two claims that it expects its net bookings for 2027 to be in excess of $8.2bn, as reported by VGC . This doesnt just include the sales of GTA 6, of course but the release of the game is expected to bolster cash flow significantly for the publishing giant.

For comparison, Take-Two boasted net bookings of $6.7bn in the same period for 2026. While the publisher has a different slate of games planned for the upcoming fiscal year, we can derive that a huge chunk of that $1.3bn gap will be plugged by Rockstars next big sandbox.
This also lines up roughly with the total net bookings for the publishers last quarter, with the report also revealing that Take-Two took around $1.39bn. Coincidentally, this was also the quarter in which GTA 6 pre-orders went live on June 25, 2026.
CEO Strauss Zelnick offered the following comment on the projected success of the business in the coming year: Our excellent first quarter results reflect the power of our portfolio and disciplined execution across all of our labels.
With these positive trends and excitement around the November 19th launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, we are reiterating our Fiscal 2027 Net Bookings outlook of $8.0 to $8.2 billion.
Looking further ahead, we expect to sustain this new level of scale and generate strong cash flows, setting us on a path to deliver continued growth and long-term shareholder returns.
Previously, industry analysts had predicted that GTA 6 could have already made over $1bn from pre-orders alone . While we dont know the exact development costs of Rockstars upcoming game, it seems more than likely that its going to break even, if not make a very tasty profit.
GTA 6 is expected to be one of the biggest entertainment launches of all time, with a recent deal letting Netflix premiere an Extended Look at the game later this month. The video will later go live on Rockstars YouTube channel after six hours.
GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
