Ever since Saga Cruises announced it would be launching a new, bespoke-built ship Spirit of Discovery , cruise holiday fans have eagerly awaited to get a sneak peek of what will be on offer.
The ship won't be launching until summer 2019 but Saga has already given holidaymakers a taste of what to expect, from artists' impressions of the interiors, to details of its naming ceremony and what sort of deals passengers can expect.
We take a look at everything we know about the new ship so far...
And if you are after a luxury cruise holiday package but don't want to wait until 2019, then make sure to check out our cruise deals page where we've rounded up the best deals of the season.
What's in the guide?
The ship's naming ceremony will take place on Friday 5th July 2019 at the Port of Dover. Spirit of Discovery will then sail on her maiden voyage, A British First, from Dover on Wednesday 10th July 2019.
You can read the full details of the naming ceremony here.
Spirit of Discovery will be sailing to a host of exciting locations across Europe, from the Norwegian Fjords to the Mediterranean.
There'll also be plenty of exciting tailored cruises such as Dance to France or Myths and Legends of the Baltics.
Prices start from 802pp - you can check out the full list of itineraries here .
Saga has previously revealed that from January 2020, Spirit of Discovery will be going all-inclusive, meaning passengers can enjoy all house spirits, wine, beer and soft drinks as part of a cruise package, alongside existing perks from gratuities to a UK travel service.
Check out the full list of all-inclusive cruises on the Saga website .
There's plenty to get excited about on board the ship.
We're talking a cosy library for a peaceful haven, a luxury spa for pampering, and even an impressive theatre that's set to play host to a wide array of entertainment.
The ship itself will be 58,250 gross ton vessels measuring 774.3ft in length and a maximum beam of 102.4ft - and it will hold less than 1,000 passengers to make for a serene setting.
This elegant garden area is sure to make for the perfect outdoor drinks spot! It'll be open throughout the day so guests can make the most of the fresh air any time, not to mention the Terrace will offer access to the on-board promenade that encircles the ship for a scenic walk.
In a tribute to Sagas cruising heritage, the ships main bar has been named after the same space on Saga Ruby, and is styled like a high-end hotel bar.
It will offer a more laidback atmosphere, with a drinks menu including wines, craft beers and cocktails, not to mention that thanks to its large televisions it'll be the perfect spot for watching live sporting events.
And for those who aren't into sport, there'll be plenty of light evening entertainment on offer too.
In a first for Saga, Spirit of Discovery will have her very own seafood restaurant, serving British and locally-sourced fish, shellfish and other fruits de mer, including the 'catch of the day'.
Just like the original East to West on Saga Sapphire , this venue will be an exclusive, dinner-only service every evening.
Food will be a mixture of traditional and contemporary Asian cuisine, with an impressive menu set to boast dishes including sizzling beef fillet in Balinese sauce and blackened tilapia with fennel.
Inspired by cosy coffee shops, The Library promises to offer a quiet nook onboard for passengers who want to unwind and get lost in a good book.
In fact, it's going to be a bookworm's delight, with Saga promising that it will boast one of the largest selection of books afloat - and of course, some mouthwatering coffee and cake for a reading snack.
Think complimentary genoise sponges that would make Mary Berry proud, or a perfectly poured ristretto for the ideal kickstart to your day.
Holidays are all about indulging and getting pampered, and Spirit of Discovery's spa will be offering just that.
There'll be plenty of the latest therapies and treatments available onboard, such as a hot stone massage or an infrared sauna that's said to leave you with glowing skin.
Guests will also have access to a steam room and indoor pool for that full spa experience.
No cruise holiday is complete without some brilliant entertainment, and with the jaw-dropping Playhouse Theatre will no doubt provide the perfect setting for shows.
Able to hold up to 430 guests, the theatre will also boast tiered seating so that wherever you sit you'll have amazing views of the shows, live music and even the odd cinema screening or two.
Saga's new build director David Pickett explained that the sleek design is aimed at impressing both new passengers and current customers who've been holidaying with the brand for years.
"On land, our travellers tastes have been honed by their experiences of tastefully designed luxury hotels and fine-dining restaurants," he explained. "Its what they are increasingly coming to expect from us at sea.
"This is why we have carefully designed Spirit of Discovery so that it mirrors their expectations. Weve taken inspiration from some of the best of British interiors and now we are rising to the challenge to deliver a luxury, cruise ship that will be built around our customers' tastes."
