'Sleek' Fitbit that's 'tremendous for helping me make smarter choices' dips from 84 to 44

Argos has slashed the price of the Fitbit Inspire 3, but by stacking it with a TopCashback registration deal, shoppers can get it for even less

The Fitbit Inspire 3 tracker monitors activity, rest, sleep, stress and more

The world of fitness trackers and smart watches can be seriously overwhelming. With a vast selection of high-tech options available, it can be hard to know which monitoring gadget to go for - especially when they range in size, features, and, most importantly, price. Fitbit is a brand synonymous with such benefits and is renowned for its wrist-wear that is compact, comfortable, and reliable for tracking steps, sleep, exercise, and more.

While these gadgets often cost close to 100 or more for a simple model, we've found a way to get the Fitbit Inspire 3 for half price, thanks to a deal stack with the UK cashback site TopCashback. Usually 84, the Fitbit - which comes in a range of colours - is currently on sale at Argos for 59.99, which is a good deal in itself. But when paired with TopCashback's registration bonus for brand-new members, it drops the price to essentially 44.44.

To get this price, new members must sign up and create a free TopCashback account, here, where they will then be eligible for the website's 15 sign-up bonus. This bonus is then credited to their account within seven working days of their first purchase of this amount or more.

This means that deducting the bonus and retailer cashback on the purchase drops the price of the Fitbit to 44.44 (if new to both TopCashback and Argos) or 44.74 for those already with an Argos account. On top of this, Click and Collect is free, while standard delivery starts at 4.95.

Hailed as an 'all-day health and fitness companion', this Fitbit Inspire 3 - which comes with a six-month Fitbit Premium membership - features a range of capabilities, from skin temperature and blood oxygen tracking to monitoring users' readiness for a gruelling workout and their stress levels. On top of this, it's not bulky to wear and features a slim 16.07mm AMOLED touchscreen that displays users' health stats, including heart rate and more.

Packed with 20 workout modes, this sleek tracker delivers real-time stats - from pace to calorie burn - and can automatically log common sessions with its SmartTrack. Swimproof and water-resistant down to 50 meters, it transitions effortlessly from the morning swim to an office-wear accessory, displaying the date, time, messages and more.

It also claims to be scratch- and dust-resistant, ideal for those who take part in a range of intense activities, such as cycling, climbing, and more.

Beyond tracking daily movement, it monitors steps, distance, sleep quality, and on-demand ECG readings to give a clearer picture of overall health. It can also be used with both iOS and Android devices via Bluetooth 5. In the box, the removable strap fits wrists from 130 to 220mm - with standard and large sizes included alongside the charging cable - and a 2-year manufacturer's guarantee offers complete peace of mind.

It is important to note that while smart watches can help us keep an eye on our stats, they aren't a failsafe method for keeping health issues in check. The British Heart Foundation notes: "Fitness trackers are useful when it comes to looking after our health, but it is important to remember they are not medical devices. They cannot replace medical tests and are not designed to give a diagnosis. They are primarily intended to help monitor fitness. However, they can be helpful for monitoring health, so if you start to see numbers or trends that worry you, let your doctor or nurse know so that they can look into it."

While Fitbit measures a range of metrics, anyone who wants a deeper dive into their fitness levels can look to the Garmin Vivosmart 5. It is a screen-based band similar in size to the Fitbit but offers a few more advanced settings for sleep tracking, heart rate, body battery energy, hydration, and even women's health.

Costing 129, it is more expensive than the Fitbit Inspire 3 and also serves as a smartwatch, letting users stay connected to texts and calls.

The Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 is another alternative option geared towards Android users. Compared to Fitbit's model, the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3's slightly wider screen makes scanning notifications a breeze, while also monitoring daily fitness and sleep and delivering auto-workout tracking. Its 13-day battery life also rivals Fitbit's 10 days, and it's a little more budget-friendly at 34 on Amazon.

The Fitbit model has received high praise from shoppers, with many people sharing how impressed they are by its features. Achieving a 4.6-star rating on Argos' website alone, the device has been hailed as a 'Great fitness tracker', with one user noting: "Extremely impressed with the performance of this little fitness watch, perfect for tracking exercise and sleep, also very easy to link to the Fitbit app where you can log your caloric intake and hydration."

Someone else added: "I was worried it would be bulky, as I usually hate wearing something on my hand or can feel it. With Fitbit, I have been wearing it 24 hours apart from showers. I forget i even have it on!! Motivates me to walk more and track my sleep and heart rate per minute. Was in between this one and Charge 6, if you need a basic Fitbit band that tracks mostly sleep, distance, steps and hbpm without extra features this will do you well!"

A third raved: "I bought this a month ago and I am so glad I did. It has helped me tremendously on my path to a healthier me, showing me that I wasn't really drinking enough water, helping me to make smarter choices in the food I eat, and (obviously) helping me to push for targets with my fitness. It's even helping me understand my sleep patterns, too! Would I recommend this device? Yes! Not just those who want to keep track of their fitness, but those who want to keep an eye on their health overall."

Not everyone was quite as sold on its features, however, as one three-star reviewer felt the display was too small and said: "The display feels too small, making it hard to read stats quickly, especially during workouts. While the basic functions are there, many features feel outdated compared to other trackers on the market... Its okay for simple step tracking, but not ideal if youre looking for advanced features or a more user-friendly screen."

That said, this wasn't a shared issue for many people, as another positive review noted that the watch's face was 'clear to read'.
