The Infusionist is Aldi's highly popular, budget-friendly own-label brand that features a diverse selection of pre-mixed ready-to-drink cocktails, flavoured spirit drinks, and sweet gin liqueurs. The Infusionist range frequently rotates based on the season, bringing in tropical, fruity flavours for the summer and shimmering, festive bottles for the winter.
The supermarket offers full-sized bottles that designed as direct, lower-cost alternatives to premium pre-mixed brands like Funkin Cocktails. They generally retail around 7.49 and feature a bartender-style, perfectly balanced flavour profile. This includes Passion Fruit Martini, Pina Colada, Margarita and Strawberry Daiquiri. For those looking for premium, pocket-sized alternatives to high-end cocktail tins (like Moth or Pimentae), Aldi offers canned cocktails that come in 125ml size. These are priced around 1.99 per can.
Fans of Aldis Belletti Hugo Spritz fans can now rejoice as the supermarket is serving up the viral cocktail in a can for the very first time! This mixes delicate elderflower, mint and sparkling wine for a taste of summer.
Aldi is also introducing a NEW Belletti Ros Spritz Ready to Drink Can (1.29, 250ml), offering the same easy-to-enjoy sparkle with delicate berry notes and a crisp, subtle, floral finish.
For vodka lovers, Aldi has unveiled the NEW Infusionist Juicy Peach Vodka Ready to Drink Can (1.49, 330ml). This blend of ripe peach and smooth vodka is a whopping 56% cheaper than Au Vodka.
It also offers a canned version of its Grapefruit Paloma that has been going viral online, as well as its Spicy Margarita and Espresso Martini.
Keen to put their canned drinks to the taste test, I was lucky enough to be sent some samples over by Aldi - and was instantly left struck by one thing after trying them... how strong they were.
The Espresso Martini was one of the first ones I tried and I quickly was shocked at its potency after taking the first sip.
I checked to see if I was supposed to mix it with anything, however I'm pretty sure it's recommended to drink as it is from what I can see.
I do think if I was to have it again I've had to mix in some milk or cream or something though as at 14.9% it was a bit too strong for me.
The Grapefruit Paloma was next to be tasted for me and it really has a lovely flavour, with a great blend of vodka, tequila, pink grapefruit and lime.
I was worried it was going to be a bit sharp, however it had just the right amount of tartness. The only issue again though was that at 10%, it was a bit strong for me. However, if you enjoy a stronger drink, you definitely get value for your money.
As I tasted more of the drinks (over a few days), it was the same sort of thing really great flavour, but probably just a bit too strong in alcohol content for my taste.
I guess if you had the same problem, you could add more of your own mixer with the drink to water it down a little. However, the whole idea of the canned drinks, usually, is that you can take them out and about with you, so you may not have something to hand.
I would just say that if you like a strong drink that's good value and you're planning to have quite a big night on the tiles, then these are definitely a great option.
Those who aren't big drinkers but still want to try, just maybe get the mixers ready.
