Pizza lovers looking to upgrade their outdoor cooking game ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend can bag some serious savings in a new Lakeland sale. The retailer has slashed the price of the Ooni Koda 12 Gas Powered Pizza Oven from 299.99 to 239.99, while the Ooni Karu 2 Multi-Fuel Pizza Oven has been cut from 349.99 to 279.99.

The deals are also mirrored on Ooni's own website, where customers can snap up both the Karu 2 and Koda 12 at the same knocked-down prices. Renowned for delivering 'authentic pizza' from the comfort of home, Ooni ovens have soared in popularity amongst those chasing restaurant-quality results in their back gardens.

The Ooni Koda 12 is a nifty portable outdoor pizza oven capable of cooking a 12" pizza in just 60 seconds, hitting temperatures of up to 500C. Unlike conventional wood-fired ovens, this gas-powered model is ready to go in as little as 15 minutes.

"Once the Ooni is up to temperature, a pizza can be cooked in just 1-2 minutes. We've used the Ooni with a wood/charcoal mix; however, we might also see how the gas attachment works, for those winter days when you want to spend less time outside."

Another customer remarked of the Ooni Koda 12: "Easy to set up out of the box, takes a bit of getting used to if you've never used one before, but makes amazing, authentic pizza in seconds once you have the hang of it. Looking forward to trying more recipes."

However, not all feedback was positive, with one shopper noting: "The oven was easy to set up and ready to use in 30 minutes. However, be aware that the pizza peel does not come as part of the oven."

"I had ordered one, but it is currently out of stock. Not realising how essential this is, and having promised the grandchildren pizzas, we tried using fish slices and cake tin bases with some success. The results were not pretty, but they did taste good."

Another reviewer remarked in a lengthier assessment: "My only criticism is I do think it's overpriced, which is a shame as I think so many more people, particularly with young families, would invest in this product."
