'Lakeland's heated blanket keeps me warm for winter and it's 50% off for Black Friday'

Lakeland has unveiled its 2025 Black Friday deals, and the retailer has slashed the price of its StaySnug Heated Throw by 50%, making it just 30

Staying snug and toasty without cranking up the thermostat, and costing mere pennies an hour to run. These are all benefits of investing in a heated throw this winter as cosy electric blankets become popular money-saving items.

As the mercury dips, Lakeland has revealed its 2025 Black Friday bargains, and its StaySnug Velvety Taupe Heated Throw has been slashed by 50% in price. For 29.99, instead of the usual 69.99 price tag, shoppers can now bag this thick and fleecy gadget for much less - and I can vouch it's effective for nippy weather.

Having used it myself for a week, the StaySnug Heated Throw has kept me comfortably warm on frosty evenings. I've been able to demonstrate that having an electric throw does indeed keep me away from the central heating switch.

On top of this, it's also cost-effective to run. Knowing that I'd be wrapped up in it throughout the winter nights, I wanted to ensure that it wasn't going to cost as much as switching on the heating.

Using the energy calculator from Sus-It shows how little it uses per hour - just pennies, in fact. With its 160W energy output over 60 minutes, this costs just 4p to use, a fraction of the cost compared to the heating and even other energy appliances like heaters.

The plush, taupe-coloured throw is crafted from thick fleece and to be honest, the blanket is snug even when it's not plugged in. It heats up to a noticeable warmth in just a few seconds.

For those on the hunt for a soft, heated throw, Dunelm offers another option. The Dreamland IntelliHeat heated throw is made from a similar velvety fleece.

My only letdown, or rather, something I didn't anticipate, are the wires. Clearly, they're essential for the heating element, but you can feel them through the throw, making it less luxurious than I had hoped.

There's also a timer, and I've discovered that an hour on level six is the ideal duration for me as the throw maintains its warmth for half an hour after being switched off. The heated blanket also features variable heat settings, ranging from one to nine.

Lakeland 2025 Black Friday bargains.

While the StaySnug Taupe Velvety Heated throw, now at 50% off, is one product I've tried before, there are several other deals in the Lakeland Black Friday sale. This includes another winter essential, the Dry:Soon Tri:Mode Foldable Clothes Dryer.

Now reduced by 40% to 59.99, down from 99.99. This is a great solution for avoiding damp-smelling clothes during winter, when the chilly weather makes laundry drying more challenging.

For those who love to cook, there are some appliances on sale too, including the Lakeland Slow Cooker and Lakeland Digital Hand Mixer, both of which are currently discounted. This competes with the wave of deals we've seen in recent days as brands like Ninja and Shark launch their early Black Friday offers.

Ninja's own slow cooker, the Foodi 8-in-1 Possible Cooker, is now down to 129 from 149. It's pricier than Lakeland's model but it's advertised as 'five times more powerful than standard slow cookers', although we haven't had a chance to verify that claim ourselves, reports the Liverpool Echo.
