When it comes to feeling glam throughout summer holiday season, budget-friendly beauty buys that are quick and easy to apply are a must-have. And one popular makeup bag essential available in four new scented shades has been hailed as "perfect for everyday wear".
Rimmel London's Oh My Gloss! Butter Me Up Lip Butter Balm is already a well-established favourite, having been a beauty bag staple since its launch a decade ago. And the brand has launched four new mocktail-inspired shades just in time for summer holiday season that shoppers have been rushing to snap up.
Priced at 9.99 each at Superdrug, the first of the four new balms is Espresso Mocktini, scented with vanilla cream and espresso, while the second mouth-watering shade is Apricello which has a caramelised apricot scent and brings a coral flush to the lips. The third, Virgin Cosmo, offers a soft pink tint with a sugared raspberry scent, and the fourth and final new mocktail shade is Cherry Spritz, a black cherry-scented statement red option.

Rimmel has formulated its bestselling balm with skincare actives, including 5% squalane - an oil that occurs naturally in the skin and is favoured for its moisturising properties - avocado butter and hyaluronic acid, to result in nourished and smoother-looking lips, the brand claims. Each shade adds a different pop of colour too, making the gloss ideal for pairing with lipstick or liner, as well as wearing on their own.
Delivering an ultra-glossy tinted finish to lips in seconds with its slanted tip applicator, Oh My Gloss! Butter Me Up is a perfect travel companion for a polished look on the go, now with a total of 11 shades to choose from. And with more than 900 reviews from Superdrug shoppers, the gloss has earned a stellar average rating of 4.8 out of five stars.
This gloss now comes in 11 shades, including four new summer mocktail-scented options, and has earned hundreds of five-star reviews from shoppers.
For more lip gloss favourites elsewhere on the high street, the bestselling choice over at Boots is the Revolution Peptide Glaze Tinted Lip Serum. Priced at 4.99, this gloss comes in four shades - Cinnamon Roll, Raspberry Crush, Strawberries & Cream, and Toasted Marshmallow - and is infused with peptides, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E and jojoba oil.
The top selling lip gloss over at Sephora, meanwhile, is the Rhode Peptide Lip Tint Nourishing Glaze, which has a price tag of 20. With six tints to choose from, including a new Toast shade, this gloss "hydrates and replenishes" while leaving a high-shine finish, according to the brand.
Back at Superdrug, one shopper said of the Oh My Gloss! Butter Me Up Lip Butter Balm: "I really enjoyed using this lip gloss it feels super lightweight and comfortable on the lips without being sticky. The texture is buttery smooth and glides on effortlessly, giving a lovely shine that makes my lips look fuller and healthier."
They continued: "I also love that it adds a hint of colour without feeling heavy, so it's perfect for everyday wear as well as for a little glam in the evening. The applicator is easy to use and helps apply just the right amount of product. Overall, it's a fun, glossy finish that makes me feel instantly put together."
Another agreed: "This is a great lip balm/gloss. It is very glossy and looks great with both glam or casual makeup! It is thick and long lasting but not sticky. The scent is so nice and it lasts really well, even when drinking. I absolutely love this product and is now a must have in my makeup bag!"
And a third reviewer raved: "Love love love this lip balm. It went on smoothly and didn't feel like it was lathered on. It stayed on for ages and left my lips feeling super moisturised and smooth even the next day. I had the bubble gum colour which is a peachy pink and smells divine."
Overall, 96% of Superdrug shoppers said they would recommend Oh My Gloss! Butter Me Up to a friend, although not everyone was completely impressed. One person fed back: "I felt like the applicator was slightly too big, which caused the product to go to the sides of my mouth."
A different reviewer remarked: "Just hoped it would last a tiny bit longer, but otherwise lovely."
Meanwhile, someone else praised: "I'm always on the lookout for a comfortable and non-sticky lip gloss so Rimmel Oh My Gloss! Butter Me Up has truly impressed me. This is a fantastic everyday go-to that gives my lips a beautiful shine and gloss.
"This shade is so lovely and enhances my natural lip colour without being too overpowering. The ingredients are super friendly for the skin and the price is amazing too," they added.
