TK Maxx fans urged to check labels for 'secret' codes that mean 'best bargains'

The trick works at all 350 TK Maxx stores in the UK

People shopping at TK Maxx are urged to look out for a few specific signs to ensure they're getting the best bargain - including checking labels for 'hidden' codes. Beyond looking at the price on the tag, there is another set of numbers that can reveal if items might be worth the cost.

Jordon Cox, known on Instagram as Britain's Coupon King, shared a video in which he claimed there are certain codes hidden on the labels that prove something might be a better bargain. The This Morning deal expert claimed certain TK Maxx products are "true bargains", but it takes an eagle eye to spot them.

Whilst most people will inspect the quality of the clothes, staff have already done the hard work for you. Workers who apply the labels will also have to assign each item a code using a simple in-store system which is much more telling than a price.

He said: "If you see a one on its own here, then that product was made specifically for TK Maxx and never sold by that brand. The magic number is two. Those items are genuine products that were stocked in branded retailers and are now being sold for a bit cheaper here."

Jordon added in the caption of his video that some products may have a number seven on the label. This means that the item would have been sold by the brand last year, meaning its very unlikely to be found elsewhere.

Jordon wrote: "Please do have a check before you buy something. It may seem like a bargain looking at the price, but it may wear out sooner than you think if its not the real deal."

TK Maxx has over 350 stores across the UK. People can find their nearest by using the online tool here, which includes details like opening times and contact information.

The website also shows where Homesense stores are too. People may find homeware-specific finds in these branches. Homesense is part of the TK Maxx brand, meaning these tips could also work in those stores too.
