Toys sold in stores including Smyth's, The Entertainer, Marks and Spencer, Tesco, Asda and Amazon have all been urgently recalled due to a serious health risk. The children's items have been flagged to the authorities as they may contain asbestos.
As a result, the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has issued a series of recall notices. Anyone with the items has been urged to stop using them immediately and dispose of them safely.
Asbestos is a banned substance because even at low levels, it can pose a health risk. The OPSS has laid out disposal instructions for anyone with the toys to follow and urged customers to seek a refund.

Addo Play Limited's Out To Impress Sand Art Creations has been recalled due to the asbestos risk. It is a sand art kit with multiple colours of play sand and plastic bottles. The product was sold by The Entertainer, Tesco, Matalan and M&S stores and websites between August 2023 and February 2026.
The toy has the item code: 318-19149-B. Customers must stop using the toy and request a refund.
The OPSS urge anyone with the items to stop using them immediately. It added: "If the sand is still in its packaging, place in a heavy-duty plastic bag, double tape it securely, label it clearly and store in a secure location out of the reach of children.
"If the sand has been used, clean up sites where the product was used using wet cloths to avoid generating dust. Wear gloves and a mask. Double bag the sand, gloves, mask and cloths. "
The OPSS continued: "Keep children and other people away from areas where the sand has been used until the area has been cleaned. Dispose of the product in your general household waste."
The Entertainer request customers not to return the item to their stores, and instead dispose of them following the OPSS instructions. It said: "Customers are entitled to a full refund and should contact the retailer they purchased the product from to arrange a refund. If purchased from The Entertainer, customers can contact customer service on +44 116 464 9374 or email Product.Recall@theentertainer.com."
