An urgent recall notice has been issued for a cleanser which is sold in shops including B&M, Home Bargains, and Savers. The government Office for Product Safety and Standards today issued a notice recalling the Simple 730ml Kind to Skin Micellar Cleansing Water, which may cause eye inflammation.
The decision is due to contamination - and the manufacturer Unilever has asked shops to remove all products from the shelves. Officials said: It has been identified that affected batches may be microbiologically contaminated, which may cause eye inflammation.
"The product has been withdrawn from the market and recalled from end users by Unilever. Consumers in possession of an affected batch should stop using the product immediately. Please access Simple Kind to Skin Recall Notice or contact your place of purchase for instructions on return or disposal of product and refund/redress."
730ml bottles of micellar cleansing water are impacted. They were sold in B&M, Home Bargains, and Savers. The product type is described as 'cosmetics personal care and grooming cleansing/washing/soap -body'.
Impacted products are Batches: 613841, 613941 Barcode: 8720181894381.
An Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) recall is an official safety notice issued or coordinated in the UK when a consumer product is found to be unsafe, defective, or non-compliant with regulations. It instructs customers to stop using the item and details how to return, fix, or replace it.
Micellar Cleansing Water is a gentle skincare product used to remove makeup, dirt, and oil. It contains tiny clusters of cleansing molecules called micelles suspended in soft water. These molecules act like magnets to trap and lift away impurities without harsh rubbing or needing to rinse your face.
