Barron Trump was absent as his father gave a big address to the Congress on Tuesday.
The 18-year-old was the only Trump child missing at the Senate in Washington DC - but with good reason; he was at university. His siblings joined his mother Melania in watching the President's remarks.
But Barron, who lives in the Trump Tower, has lectures this week at New York University, where he studies business. The teenager recommended podcasts for his dad to speak to in order to reach young male voters last year.
And Mr Trump was buoyant as he addressed the crowd at the Senate, heralding his victory. He bragged about winning each of the swing states and said he was already making "America great again".
But the ramblings were almost derailed early on when protesters voiced their anger at Mr Trump's plans. Democratic Rep. Al Green of Texas refused to be silenced or seated during the address - and he was forcibly removed.
Speaking in December, Melania said her son is unlikely to have a typical university experience. She said: "I don't think it's possible for him to be a normal student. His experience at college it's very different than any other kid."
In a separate interview recently, the protecrive mum added: "He's a grown young man. I'm very proud of him about his knowledge, even about politics, and giving advice to his father. He brought in so many young people. He knows his generation."
But Melania, 54, has also kept her son away from some major political events, including this summers Republican National Convention. Barron was only 10 when his father was elected the first time. He spent his teenage years growing up at the White House.
Melania said he will soon come visit them in Washington DC. Speaking to Fox News recently, Melania said: "He will come and visit, yes. I feel that children we have them feel they are like 18, 19 years old. We teach them, we guide them. And then we give them the wings to fly. And I always respect Barron's yes and no and what he likes to do, where he would like to be."
