Hundreds of flights have been grounded after a major airport was forced to halt all arriving and departing journeys - causing travel disruption for thousands of Brits.
Berlin Brandenburg Airport has been paralyzed due to strikes, leaving 445 flights grounded and passengers in chaos.
The walkout is part of a call by Verdi service workers for higher wages, affecting 2,000 employees. The major German air hub has ground to a halt, with as many as 57,000 passengers caught up in the strikes.
UK airlines affected by the closure include British Airways, easyJet and Ryanair, with Brits who had been scheduled to fly from London, Manchester, Bristol and Edinburgh left to make other plans.

A total of 23 flights from the UK to Berlin have been affected, while other Brits will be trying to leave the city - leaving thousands affected by the airport chaos.
In a statement the airport said: On Wednesday, 18 March 2026, no scheduled passenger flights will be possible at Berlin Brandenburg Airport. The airport operator has informed its partners, such as airlines, ground handling service providers, security companies and local businesses, of this.
Please contact your airline or tour operator for information on rebooking and alternative travel options.
Passengers will be offered alternative routes or refunds by their airlines, but the disruption could continue, with a key date in negotiations between unions and bosses coming up on March 25.
Airport boss Aletta von Massenbach blasted the "disproportionate" strike action, saying: We consider a warning strike to be disproportionate especially in a situation that is already very tense due to the war in Iran.
Flights into and out of the Middle East from the UK and Europe continue to be massively disrupted due to the ongoing war with Iran, as British Airways announced yesterday that flights to Amman, Bahrain, Dubai and Tel Aviv were now cancelled up to and including May 31, and flights to Doha were cancelled until April 30, the airline said in a new update.
