A woman has been arrested after cops seized a massive haul of crystal meth and cannabis inside luggage at Dublin Airport.

The massive drug bust saw two large suitcases filled with 35kg of crystal meth and cannabis seized by officers with an estimated value of more than 814,000.

A woman has been detained after the drugs were discovered, vacuum-packed in the baggage of a passenger who had got off a flight from Canada.

With the help of a sniffer dog called Charlie, revenue officers at Dublin airport found an estimated 29kg of herbal cannabis and 6kg of crystal methamphetamine in the luggage.

Pictures of the bust show bags of the illicit drugs spilling out of two large suitcases. The cannabis has an estimated value of half a million pounds and the crystal meth is valued at more than 315,000.

The woman, in her 50s, has been arrested and is being held at Dublin Garda Station under the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Revenue officers have said their investigations are ongoing.
