A busy European airport will shut for almost a week as part of a major revamp.
Spain's Almeria Airport will close for six days to upgrade its runway. The closure is planned for February 2028, with all scheduled flights cancelled over this period.
This will mark the first work on the runway in 20 years.
The airport, about a 15-minute drive from Almeria city centre in Spain's Andalusia region, handles up to 800,000 passengers annually.
Brits are believed to make up between 55 and 70 per cent of travellers.
The runway renovation is part of a longer 19-month project to upgrade the entire airport, costing 29million (24.8million).
During this period, work will be carried out at night between 10.45pm and 7.10am the following day and flights between these hours will be impacted.
Spain's airports operator Aena has already notified airlines that operate at the airport, including Ryanair, easyJet and Iberia.
The carriers will now have to reschedule flights or divert the routes to other airports.
Flights from Almeria Airport to the UK include routes to Birmingham, London Southend, Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol and Leeds Bradford.
Other parts of the project included improving the taxiways, upgrading over 600 lights and replacing 34 directional signs.
