Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham silence boos of Azteca 'cauldron' with extraordinary response

Ten-man England beat Mexico in an extraordinary match in the Azteca 'cauldron' as their World Cup remains alive and now they face Erling Haaland's Norway side

Jude Bellingham was Englands hero as they won a dramatic, nail-biting World Cup match at the Azteca stadium in the early hours of this morning. He was joined by Captain Marvel Harry Kane, as usual, who scored a second-half penalty. They saw off Mexico despite playing before one of the most roaring, passionate and hostile crowds they have ever faced. But in the end, it was the visibly emotional England players bellowing out Wonderwall in front of the heroic travelling army. There were incredible scenes as fans paid tribute to their heroes. Then they even joined in with Robbie Williams' Angels as it boomed out.

Now the scramble for tickets and hotels in Miami to face Norway next weekend starts. Before the game, the Mexican fans had booed Bellingham and Kanes names more than any other England players.

They both rammed those taunts down their throats in style. And they managed to almost silence the bubbling cauldron which has become such a special part of the World Cup.

But concern remains for Jordan Henderson who was stretchered off and taken to hospital after the full-time whistle as he sustained "really bad" injury during his team's celebrations. The Brentford midfielder, who has 91 caps for his country, has hurt his arm, it is understood.

The game started one hour late because of the thunderstorms that swept around the Azteca. But it didnt affect England. As they left the Azteca, England fans were celebrating and dreaming of World Cup glory. James Rogers, 41, a diplomat from Maidstone, Kent paid 850 for his ticket which was the same as his season ticket for manchester-united-fc>Manchester United. He said: But that was worth every penny. What a game, what a result. Norway in the quarter final, what a chance to go all the way.

Well done, England. A fantastic performance filled with guts and pride. Tom Graves, 67, a retired plumber from Sheffield, said: Im so proud of the lads. They had to dig deep at times, but what a player that Jude Bellingham is.

In front of a ferocious crowd, the Three Lions entered the Lions Den. And they found a way to get out alive. The sound inside was deafening. Every touch of the ball by a Mexican player was greeted with Ole, Ole, Ole. Every touch by an England player was met with huge boos.

The decibel level of the Mexican was measured at 149 decibels. Within seconds of the start, there were sustained cheers of Mexico, Mexico, Mexico.

Every throw-in Mexico won was greeted like theyd won the World Cup. England exorcised the ghost of Diego Maradona, who scored his infamous Hand of God goal here in 1986.

With Brazil being sensational knocked out by Norway, England now have a wonderful chance of making the semi-finals.

Forks of lightning could be see nearby as huge claps of thunder left a couple of supporters screaming in fear. Torrents of water ran across the concourse.
