Nine FPL budget enablers to afford both Erling Haaland and Bruno Fernandes

If you simply must have Erling Haaland (15.5m) and Bruno Fernandes (12m) in your Fantasy Football team this season, here are nine bargain pickups who can help you afford them

Cheap FPL players you can pick in order to afford Haaland and Fernandes:

  1. Bobby Thomas: The Coventry City centre back offers incredible value as a guaranteed starting 4.0m defender for the newly promoted Sky Blues. He carries solid set-piece attacking threat and is expected to accumulate heavy defensive contribution (DefCon) points.
  2. Dara O'Shea: The Ipswich Town defender is another bargain 4.0m option expected to feature regularly across Gary O'Neil's backline. His aerial presence on set plays and strong defensive work rate make him an ideal bench enabler.
  3. Leif Davis: The Ipswich Town left back comes in at the minimum 4.0m price point despite providing significant creative output from set pieces and open play. His willingness to burst forward into advanced crossing positions gives him impressive attacking upside for a bargain defender.
  4. Pascal Gross: Available at just 5.5m, the Brighton playmaker remains a proven creative force capable of racking up regular goal contributions. However, managers should monitor his minutes closely as Brighton face a European qualifier either side of Gameweek 1.
  5. Diego Gomez: The versatile Brighton midfielder represents a huge saving at 5.0m and is set to start on the right wing with Kaoru Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh sidelined. Fantasy managers will just need to confirm his fitness after he picked up a minor knock over the weekend.
  6. Mamadou Sangare: Brentford's new club-record signing arrives at 5.5m after establishing himself as a defensive contribution machine in Ligue 1 last term. The engine room enforcer adds defensive stability for the Bees while also offering occasional late-arriving attacking returns.
  7. Ethan Ampadu: Priced at 5.5m, the Leeds United captain is an appealing budget midfielder who consistently delivers high defensive contribution scores in the engine room. His guaranteed starting place and aerial presence make him a dependable enabler to help free up squad funds.
  8. Dominic Calvert-Lewin: Priced at a modest 6.0m, the Leeds striker looks like a real bargain as he prepares to lead the line and have penalty duties. He enjoyed a stellar first season in Yorkshire and provides reliable focal-point scoring for a budget price tag.
  9. Brian Brobbey: The 6.0m forward offers fantastic early-season potential thanks to an attractive opening slate of league fixtures. His physical presence and clinical finishing inside the penalty area make him a top mid-priced option to free up squad funds.
