Time is ticking at Old Trafford as Manchester United hope to wrap up more transfer business before the window slams shut. And with a Premier League opener against Hull City on the agenda this Saturday, the club will soon be distracted otherwise.
Michael Carrick's side travel to Yorkshire this weekend on the back of an encouraging pre-season period. Despite losing to Ruben Amorim's AC Milan in the final fixture of their tour, United were largely impressive as new faces continue to bed in.
However, there are plenty of fans who would like to see a few more signings arrive between now and the start of September. And Mirror Football provides all the latest from around the club as opportunities for business dry up in the coming weeks.

United are reportedly in talks to hand captain Bruno Fernandes a new contract in order to stave off the threat of him leaving. After speculation of interest from Saudi Arabia in recent years, Galatasaray are the latest to emerge with offers of an allegedly lucrative deal if the Portugal star joins this summer.
The Turkish powerhouse are reportedly willing to offer 43million for Fernandes, who could supposedly double his 300,000-a-week wages in the Super Lig. However, United are pulling out all the stops to ensure their skipper remains right where he is.
The 31-year-old is coming off the back of a season in which he broke the record for the most Premier League assists in a single campaign (21). And it seems as though Carrick will prioritise the playmaker again heading into this term.
Fernandes has entered the final 12 months of his current contract, which includes the offer of a 12-month extension. However, it seems United are moving to ensure they limit any potential discomfort in the near future.
Sky's Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle includes at least 215 live Premier League clashes across the 2026/27 season, with more than 1,500 games from the EFL and beyond, plus F1, golf and darts.
This introductory offer saves 384 compared to the standard price, with every package also providing 100 regular channels alongside free Netflix and discovery+ subscriptions.
Sky Sports News reported on Monday that United's stance on the matter is their captain is not for sale at any price. That being said, they could now reward him with fresh terms as a sign of just how much they value his contributions.
The reigning Premier League Player of the Year turns 32 in September but is showing no signs of decline despite his experience. Fernandes will also play a key role in advancing United's title prospects this season as they prepare for a return to the Champions League.
Bayer Leverkusen have informed suitors they'll need to pay 43million if they're to sign centre-back Edmond Tapsoba this summer. The Burkina Faso international has been linked with United already, while Newcastle and Tottenham are also reportedly interested.
Tapsoba, 27, has been touted for a Premier League switch on numerous occasions over the years. He joined Leverkusen from Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes in 2020 and has made 237 appearances for the German outfit, winning a Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double in 2024.
According to fussballdaten, Leverkusen would consider a sale if an interested party were to meet that 43m valuation. It's worth noting Tapsoba signed a new five-year contract just a few months ago, however, showing the German side clearly value his loyalties.
Central defence is fairly well-stocked at Old Trafford at present, though keeping all options fit has been a struggle in recent years. Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez head serve as experienced vets alongside Harry Maguire, while Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven are two rising stars with claims on starting spots and Luke Shaw can also provide cover.
From that perspective, it may make sense for United to concentrate their efforts on reinforcing other areas of the team first. However, the alleged fee attached to Tapsoba's name could prove tempting in a window where United have already concluded some bargain business.
